Angela - here are the directions for hanging the knobs- we use door knobs to hang curtain panels too. Our friends at Simply Modern Mom have an awesome pictorial- Check it out at: http://www.simplymodernmom.com/2010/01/diy-mounting-knobs-on-walls/. Thanks for following! Lori

Directions on using knobs to hang artwork

Supplies:

cabinet knobs or any types of knobs that uses screws
strong bolt cutter
screws (most store bought knobs come with screws)
wall anchors that fits screw size
electric drill
hammer
1. Use the bolt cutter and cut off the closed end of the screw.

2. Measure where you would like to hang the knob and drill a hole. Look on the wall anchor packaging to see what size drill bit you need.

3. Place the wall anchor in the hole and hammer it flat into the wall.

4. Screw the knob into one end of the double open ended screw.

5. Screw the other end of the screw into the anchor all ready in the wall.

Rachel - we like to us long pieces of Z Bar. If you aren't familiar with it, this is a piece of metal that is attached to the wall with screws. The metal piece on the headboard is attached upside down and you just hang it on the wall. If you don't want to screw anything to the wall, you can always set the doors on the floor and push the bed frame against it to hold in place, but this is not as sturdy at actually attaching it.

Check out these links for some ideas on how to hang the headboard-

Hope this helps! Lori

This all looks awesome ! My 2 favorite things...the seemingly monochromatic pillow with the blue bird and green leaves and the giant, what would that be, a poppason chair?? It's amazing! Hope you both had lots of fun!

Love these ideas for headboards! I've been wanting to do a DIY headboard for a long time, but didn't really have any money to spend. The shutters headboard gave me the idea to use some old folding doors I took off my closet! However, I'm wondering if it would be necessary to affix the doors to the wall at all? Any advice?
